Storm System: The Master Storm Drain budgeted to coincide with DART project on
E. Pine Street, included more main in Pine Street than was necessary to accomm^date
the final plans prepared by DART. Thus excessive funds are appropriated for the
project. Two additional projects needing Master Drain lines are ready for con-
struction and funds are requested for those Projects as shown above. No additional
Master Drain Funds are needed to make these changes.
Street System: During the design process for the Hutchins Street Overlay, it
was determined that no work need be done on the southbound lanes at: this time.
This resulted in excess FAU funds in the project. In order to help reduce the
backlog of Federal Aid Urban (FAU) funds and keep the number of FAU projects
to a minimum, it is recommended that ma additional overlays (Ham Lane and Turner
Road) be added to the FAU project. This frees less restrictive Gas Tax Funds for
other projects.
The Turner Road Reconstruction project will provide a new street fronting the
Woodlake Subdivision. The developer will contribute funds for his share of the
work (from the existing edge of pavement to the new gutter on the north). The
installation of the City's Master Storm Drain will require nearly complete re-
placement of the street and the existing south side consists of patched, oil
treated subgrade which is the City's responsibility to replace. Due to the size
of the project, it is recommended that the City go to bid on the entire project
rather than having the developer do the work for the City.
