IF APPOINTED, I UNDERSTAND I WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE A "CONFLICT OF
INTEREST" FORM WHICH WOULD MAKE PUBLIC INFORMATION OF VARIOUS
INTERESTS AND HOLDINGS THAT I MIGHT HAVE.
I AM INTERESTED IN THE ARTS; THE FOLLOVIING ARE SOME OF THE REASONS
AND EXPERIENCES I HAVE HAD. NOTE: INCLUDE ANY IDEAS YOU MAY HAVE.
(USE ALL THE SPACE YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THIS FORM.)
I have had a life long interest in the Arts. I have studied
Loth music -ind -art, and h-ive a colleEre minor in Art. I have taught art
on the high school level, and presently teach home economics classes,
which combine many of the visual and applied arts. T am serving on
Delta College's Interior Design Advisory Committee for vocational
classes in this area.
My husband and I are season ticket holders of the Stockton
Symphony Association, and we are currently serving on the Board
of the Lodi Community Concert Association. I frequently attend theater-
end
heater°end music productions locally and in other areas.
I feel that a strong Lodi Arts Commission should serve people of all.
ages in our community. With the prospects of a new Community Center, we
have nn opportunity and responsibility to incorporate and encourage the
Arts ns part of the cultural life of Lodi. Current cutbacks in school
funding may led to reduced experiences in visual and prforminq arts,
which would he detrimental to education, enjoyment, and employment
for both children and adulta.
I feel that the Lodi Arts Commission should explore and supn.ort
proKrams that help people express themselves, and encourage neonle: to
enjoy the efforts and talents of others.
