was introduced by Public Works Director Jack Ronsko who
advised the Council that the low bidder for this project
had
advised his off ic:*-,- that they had made a mistake on their
bid
and 'wished to withdraw the bid. The low bidder was advised
that he would be required to make a formal request in
writang to have his bid withdrawn and Mr. Ronsko recce mended
that any action on this matter be deferred to the next
regular Council meeting. On motion of Council Member
Pinkerton, Kirphy second, Council deferred awarding the
contract for the Ird-i Animal Shelter Expansion to the

regular Council meeting of May 18, 1983.

SUBJECT: Plans and Specifications for "LODI ANIMAL SHELTER EXPANSION"
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications
Tor the above pro ect and authorize the City Clerk to advertise for bids to be
received Wednesday, May 4, 1983.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Animal Shelter expansion and completion of the MSC
wall was approved in the 1982-83 Capital Improvement Budget with an estimated
expenditure of $125,000.
In general, the work consists of constructing 14 additional individual kennels,
including approximately 2500 SF of concrete slabs, 1300 SF of covered
improvements, 500 LF of concrete block wall, mechanical and electrical work and
miscellaenous site and other incidental and related work.
The architect' e=timate for the Animal Shelter and MSC wall work is $162,000.
