RESOLUTION NO,
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI
RESTRICTING SMOKING DURING MEETINGS BEING CONDUCTED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL IN THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS
WHEREAS. the Surgeon General of the United States has
.:etermined that the smoking of cigars, cigarett►s and other
tobacco products is injurious to health; and
WiiEREAS, it is found that smoke from cigars, cigarettes
and other tobacco products may be injurious to the health of
persons present i^ a room with somc-one smoking cigars,
cigarettes or other tobacco products; and
WHEREAS, the smoking of cigars, cigarettes or other
tobacco products in the Council Chambers of the City hall, City
of Lodi, constitutes a fire hazard; and
WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of Lodi desires to
prohibit and restrict the smoking of cigars, cigarettes and
other tobacco products during meetings being conducted by the
City Council in the Council Chambers, City Ball, Lodi,
California;
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that t he smoking of
cigars, cigarettes or other tobacco products shall be and is
prohibited in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City
of Lodi whenever a meeting is being conducted by the City
Council in such Council Chambers.
