LODI HIGH SCHOOL

Dear Lodi City Council,
-4,C) " - VC) -•,- ✓
Several groups at Lodi High School are sponsoring an
organized effort called "We are the Ones at Lodi H-gh
They have taken it upon themselves to start a fund raising
drive to help the victims of starvation in Ethiopia. Their
goal is 10,000 dollars.
Up to this date there are many activities planned: such
as a free car,wash-donations go to Ethiopia, collection cans
in class rooms, and assemblies at many schools in our district.
We would also like to organize a concert in the Grape Howl.
Mr. Bennedetti of Parks and Recreation has informed us
that we need insurance and security, both of which we have
arranged. However, we need the City of Lodi's permission
and I would like to request this from you now.
Here are the details. The concert is called "Day on the
Grape" and it will be held on May 27th, Memorial Day, from
12:00 noon to 6:00. No alcohol or ice chests will.be permitted
in the stadium. Admission is $3.00 per person. Six local
bands have donated their time and a speaker from Senator
Garamendi's office and a D.J. from FM 102,wro is going to
Ethiopia on June 3rd, will both be present.
We will obtain insurance, $500,000.00 liability and ?
$50,000.00 damages for $300,00 to $350.00, from Brusa's
Insurance. Z +.Z Security have agreed to supply five armed
n1L)'ld and unarmed security officers for $280.00. Three school
fc'. security people have volunteered their services as well.
pfCjfI`j Entrances will be guarded by adult volunteers. A Conflict
Management booth will be set up where kids can settle any
conflicts that may arise in a non-violent, communicative
manner. No one may leave and re-enter.,
The Radio stations are all set to go and the Lodi
Sentinel and Stockton Record both want me to contact them
concerning this evert. But I must have your permission,.
please.
We would appreciate a response from you as soon as con-
venient. This event seems to have expanded greatly in a very
short time with many enthusiastic and cooperative people
working together. We hope to emphasize to Lodi's youth the
spirit of giving and the idea, that in world terms, we are
all in this mess together, so lets' help each other, We
hope you will help us too.
Veejy Sincerely,
Rebecca Stone
