upon the conclusion of the business immediately before the

Sec. 24. Rolt call.
Before proceeding with the business of the council, the city
clerk or the acting city clerk shall call the roll of the members,
and the names of those present shall be entered in the minutes.

Sec. 2A. Order of business; assembly of officers.
At the hour set by this article or other ordinance on the -day
of each regular meeting, the members of the council, the city
clerk. city manager and city attorney shall take their- regular
stations in the council chambers and the business of the council
shall be taken up for consideration and disposition in the
#oltowiug order, except that with the unanimous- consent of
the counciL matters may be taken out of order and that -the
order of business herein set forth may be changedfrom time to
time by the adoption of a resolution by the city council:
(a) Roll calt;
(b) Invocation;
(c) Pledge of allegiance.
(d) Presentations
(1) Awards,
(2) Proclamations;
(e) Public hearings;
(f) Planning commission.
(g) Communications (city clerk);
(h) Comments by city councilmen
(i) Reports of city manager
(1) Consent calendar.
(2) Regular calendar;
(j) Ordinances;

Unless the reading of the minutes of a council meeting is
requested by a member of the council. such minute. may be
approved. Without reading; if the clerk has previously furnished
each member with a copy thereof. (Ord. 1o. 567. § 9.)
.Sec. 2-11.. Rules otodebate.
(a) Pre.sidinp officer may delmtte. The mayor or such other
member of the council as may be presidingt may move. second and
debate from the chair. subject only to such limitat-ions of debate
as are -by these rules imposed upon all members. lie shall not b
deprived- of any of the rights andprivileges of a councilman by
reason of his action as -the presiding officer.

the presiding; officer. shall confine himself to the question under
debate-. avoiding all personalities and indecorous language.

herein otherwise provided. if a member. chile speaking, he called
to order., he shall cease speaking until the question of order he
determined. and. if in order. he shall 1x permitted to proceed.

the presiding officer, the privilege of having; an abstract of his

statement shall he entered. in the minutes.

RESOLUTION NO. 82-38
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LODI, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY
OF LODI ON THE 13TH DAY OF APRIL, 1982,
DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election was held
and conducted in the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin,
State of California, on Tuesday, the 13th day of April, 1982,
as required by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and
regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by the
law; that voting precincts were properly established; that
election officers were appointed; and that in all respects
said election was held and conducted and the votes cast
thereas, received and canvassed and the returns made and
declared in time, form and manned as required by the
provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California
for the holding of elections in cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 82-6 adopted the
20th day of January, 1982, the City Clerk of the City of Lodi
canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the
results to this City Council, said results are received,
attached and made a part thereof as "Exhibit "A",
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1. - That there were twelve (12) voting
precincts established for the purpose of holding said election
comprised of the following consolidations of the regular
election precincts in the City of Lodi as established for the
holding of State and County elections;
VOTING PRECINCT 1, comprising State and County
precinct numbers L-2401 and L-2402
VOTING PRECINCT 2, comprising State and County
precinct numbers L-2403 and L-2404
VOTING PRECINCT 3, comprising State and County
precinct numbers L-2405, L-2406, and L-2426

Section 2. - That said.regular municipal election was
held for the purpose of electing the following officers of
said City as required by the laws relating to cities in the
State of California, to wit:
three members of the City Council of said City for the
full term of four years
Section 3. - That the whole number of votes cast in

That the whole number of ballots cast in
said City, including absent voter ballots was 5,616
Section 4. - That the names of persons voted for as

Section 5. - The City Council does declare and
determine that.: -
Fred M. Reid was elected as member of the
City Council of said City for
the full term of four years;
Evelyn M. Olson was elected as member of the
City Council of said City for
the full term of four years;
John R. (Randy) Snider was elected as member of the
City Council of said City for
the full term of four years.
Section 6. - The City Clerk shall enter on the records
of the City Council of said City a statement of the results of
said election showing:
1.
the
whole
number of
votes cast in the City;
2.
the
names
of the persons
voted for;
3.
for
what office
each
person was voted for;
4.
the
number
of votes
given at each precinct to each
person;
5.
the
number
of votes
given in the City to each
person;
Section 7. - that the City Clerk shall immediately
make and, upon compliance by the persons elected with the
provisions of Section 11565 and Section 11568 of the Elections
Code of the State of California, shall deliver to each of such
persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by her and
duly authenticated; that she shall also administer to each

person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State
Constitution of the State of California and shall have them
subscribe thereto and file the same in her office. Whereupon,
each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into
the respective office to which they have been elected.
Section 8. - that the City Clerk shall Certify to the
passage and aaop ion of this resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of original resolution of said City; and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City,
in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and
adopted.
