SUM B- LODI, CA 95240 (209)369-6921 March 7, 2013 Dear Lodi City Council, RECEIVED APR ¢ R 2M CITE( CLERK The Lodi Senior Citizens Commission is actively involved in identifying and addressing the needs of senior citizens in the Lodi community. Our goal in reaching out to the seniors in our community has been greatly impacted by lack of funds for the Lodi Senior Citizens Commission. For the past three years our commission has provided an informational seminar on aging issues, printed the Lodi Senior Resource Guide, and teamed up with the Alzheimer's Association in providing family caregiver training. All of these efforts come with a cost for advertising, printing, refreshments, and more. While the Commission has been fortunate in receiving generous support from Lodi Health and the LOEL Center, the Senior Commission still needs funding for ongoing outreach into the community. The Senior Citizens Commission respectfully requests an annual budget of $2000 to cover the costs of printing the resource guides, flyers, advertising, and other expenses involved in our outreach and advocacy. Thank you for your time and consideration of this request. We believe the monies invested by the City of Lodi will be used wisely in addressing the needs and issues of the senior citizens in our community. Sincerely, Susie Klusman, MBA Lodi Senior Citizens Commission - Chair
