Dear Property Owner:
SUBJECT: Church Street Reconstruction
The City of Lodi is planning to rebuild the pavement on Church Street
this summer. The project will extend from Lockeford Street to Turner Road.
In conjunction with this project, the street wili be widened to improve
traffic flow and safety. The wider street (48 ft. from curb to curb) will
allow two-way traffic, parking on both sides, and allows for four lanes
with no parking in the future if traffic demands. No additional right-of-
way is being acquired, with the exception of some corner lots where new
curb returns would result in a few square feet of sidewalk being on pri-
vate property. The wider street is obtained by incorporating the planter
strips into the street section.
The effects this project might have on the environment of the area have
been studied. The study shows that there will be no significant effect.
A statement of negligible effects on the environment (a negative declaration)
has been prepared. It and plans for the project are available for viewing
and comment at City Hall, 221 West Pine St. The City Coupe -ll will hold a
public hearing on the negative declaration and project alternatives at
8:00 p.m, on May 6, 1981, in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
If you cannot come in during business hours (8:00 a.m, to 12:00 noon,
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), please call Richard Prima at City Hall, 334-5634,
and arrangements can be made to meet you after hours.
Sincerely /
