existing parking enforcement ordinance by adding a section

enforcement of this ordinance having been introduced at a

regular meeting held March 16, 1983 was brought up for
passage on motion of Council Member Reid, Snider second.
Second reading was omitted after reading by title, and the
Ordinance was then passed, adopted and ordered to print by
the following vote:
Ayes: Council embers - Snider, Murphy, Pinkerton, Reid
and Olson (Mayor)

ORDINANCE NO. 1285
I ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF
LODI•S EXISTING PARKING ENFORCEMENT ORDINANCE BY
ADDING A SECTION MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO REMOVE
CHALK MARKS OR OTHER DISTINGUISHING MARKS OR
OBJECTS USED BY ANY POLICE OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE
OR OFFICER OF THE CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
t Section 1. Section 14-83 or the Lodi Municipal Code entitled -
Enforcement; issuing citations; payment 'of fines is
hereby amended by the addition of the following
subsection:
(e) No person shall interfere with or obstruct in
any way any police officer or other officer or employee
of this City in their enforcement of the provisions of
this division. The removal, obliteration or concealment
of any chalk mark or other distinguishing mark or object
used by any police officer or other er..ployee or officer
of this City in connection with the enforcement of the
parking regulations of this ordinance shall, if done for
the purpose of evading the provisions of this ordinance,
constitute such interference or obstruction.
Section 2.
All' ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-

with are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist.

Section 3.
This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi
"
News Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in
force and take effect thirty days from and after its
passage and approval.
