BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The contract was awarded to Teichert Construction, of Roseville, in the amount of $183,690. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by City Council. This project consisted of adjusting water valves and manhole frames and covers to grade, performing approximately 10,100 square feet of pavement repair at various locations throughout the City and other incidental and related work, all as shown on the plans and specifications for the project. The pavement around the utility frames and covers at these locations had deteriorated, causing uneven surfaces. Many locations also had pavement failures that need to be repaired. The completion date was November 15, 2012. The final contract price was $211,934.10. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price ($28,244.10) is due to increases in unit quantities for pavement repair and adjustments to manhole frames and covers and survey monument frames. Following acceptance by the City Council, as required by law, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. The notice serves to notify vendors and subcontractors that the project is complete and begins their 30 -day period to file a stop notice requiring the City to withhold payments from the prime contractor in the event of a payment dispute. FISCAL IMPACT: There will be a reduction in annual maintenance costs. FUNDING AVAILABLE: This project was funded by Water Capital (181) and Wastewater Capital (171) F.
