PREPARM BY RALPH AMEPSM Council was reminded that the City contracted with Ralph AND ASSOCIATES Anderson and As:nociates to conduct r. classification Pnd wage study. Both of these studies had been presented to council at previous meetings. The Classification study has been reviewed by Staff and employee representatives with little need for change fotmd. After Staff had a complete understanding of the classification plan, Staff began the process of negotiating an implementation plan with the errployee units affected. In this process, revisions were made in the salary data and in the corrput a t i on of total carrpensa t i on . The City reached an agreement with the General Services and Dispatchers Units. The Maintenance and Operators Unit voted not to implement the new salary plan. Staff used the same logic and validated compensation data for the Mid-rnenagmvnt persona t, including revising the spread between supervisory positions. In order to effectuate the classification plan and the wage plan, Council was asked to take the following actions: 1) Adopt the Classification Manual for the City of Lodi, dated December 1983 with attached Errata Sheet. 2) Adopt the salary resolution 3) Authorize the City Nbnagrer to assign personnel into the appropriate classifications in accordance with the .reccrrmendations of the Classification Manual and agreements with aq)1 oyee units. 4) As a completely separate item outside the classification study, make the following change to the Fire Department organ i z a t ion: Eliminate 1 Dispat cher--Clerk,Fire Acid 1 Administrative Clerk III Following a lengthy discussion wish questions being directed to Staff, Council took the following actions concerning this matter: Imo. 1D. 84-035 a) On motion of Mayor Pro Tempore Snider, Pinkerton second, ADCFTED adopted Resolution No. 84-035 adopting the Classification WinuaI prepared by Ralph Anderson and Associates for the City of Lodi dated Dece-ber 1983 with the Errata Sheet attached thereto. ..............,..,.+"....--..,..�..... ^M'3'T"S' r ems„ . ,,,,.. . s -`..
