ORD. NO. 1378
INTRODUCED Council was apprised that the Public Workti Departrx-nt's
Water/Wastewater Division, over the past six years, has
CC -24 (b) investigated several complaints relating to discolored
CC -51 (a) water and has received taste and odor complaints from
hundreds of citizens in commercial and industrial areas of
Lcdi. The conclusion of most all investigations showed the
problems to be a result of blackflow of on-site
contaminates into the City's water system for cross -
connections.
These problems, together with occasional rises in bacteria
counts in the water system which is sanipled on a weekly
basis, have been eliminated when the proper backflow
device was installed on specific ccmrercial and industrial
water services.

that the City of Lodi fon)aily adopt an ordinance relating
to Cross -Connection Control.
Ordinance No. 1378 - entitled, "An Ordinar_ce of ttba- City
Council of the City of Lodi Establishing and Providing the
Regulation of Cross Connections to the City's Potable Water

System" was introduced by the Council.;
