MEETING DATE: March 18, 1987
AGENDA TITLE: Approve Destruction of Certain Public Works Records
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the destruction of the
Public Works files listed in the attached Exhibit A.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Section 34090 of the California Government Code
authorizes the destruction of certain City records after the same are no g
longer required "with the approval of the legislative body by resolution and
the written consent of the City Attorney."

The City Attorney has given his written consent to the destruction of the

Public Works files listed in Exhibit A. The Tis, is self-explanatory and
contains Public Works files in which the last entries are over five ,years old.

A RESOUNIGN, AUTHORIZING DESi'RUCTIOfi QF CERTAIN RECORDS
RETAINED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
In accordance with Government Code Section 34090, the City
Attorney has filed his Written consent to the destruction of records
retained by the Public Works Department, an inventory of which

attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and thereby made a part hereof.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi that:
1. The records heretofore identified are more than five years
old and are no lager required.
2. The City Council of the City of Lodi finds that the City
Attorney has giver. his written consent to the destruction of
the records inventoried on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
the aestruction of these records is hereby authorized.

adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a Regular
Meeting held March 18, 1987 by the following vote:
