FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT
ACTION:
Construction of an expanded post office at the existing location in downtown
Lodi, CA, consisting - of a new building extension totaling 23,715 gross square
feet, on an expanded site totaling 97,200 square feet. Tokay Annex will be
vacated as a part of this action.
FINDING:
This finding is=based on the -Environmental Assessment dated August S. 1981,
prepared. by the environmental firm of Earth Metrics, Inc., Burlingame, CA 94010.
It is expected that the impacts from constructi-on of the new postal facili-ty
will' be temporary. Mitigating measures will be taken.
Carpooling will be encouraged where practicable. Effort will be made to
minimize ingressl-egress and parking problems. Also coordination with Cita}-and
State will be accomplished to obtain best possible control and smooth flow of
traffic.
The State Historic Preservation Office has concluded that no effects are
anticipated., on historic structures. If any cultural resources are found
during construction, care will be taken to minimize disturbance, and the
SHPO will be informed so that the resources can be evaluated.
Relocation assistance for existing dwelling or business units on site will
be provided in accordance with standard USPS procedures.
., Therefore, I hereby find and declare that this action will not have a
significant effect on the human environment and that. it will not require the
preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement.
