Gentlemen:
1 feet that the Southern Pacific Railroad is blowing the train air horns un-
necessarily and for- excessively long periods of time, as they pass through town,
and during switching -operations.. l.t is also a particularly .ctis.turbing. probtem
on the General Mills spur track which runs through ars otherwise quiet
residential area. Many citizens are disturbed by this excessive nosie,
which is partsk-ul-arly bothersome during sleeping -hours. The problem seems to
be getting progressively worse over time. it appears that the blowing is
much more than necessary for safety purposes.
On behalf of the many citizens that are disturbed by this noise. 1 request
that the City Counci't-pursue whatever action necessary to ge-t the noise -ieves
down. 1 request that the City also seek a meeting with officials at General
Mills to discuss the problem of excessive horn blowing on the spur track. and
to ask them to do whatever they can to help,
Stneerely,.
