FROM: THE CITY /MANAGER'S OFMCE March 12, 1982 /M SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF WOOD UTILITY POLES (UD -E82-1) On Tuesday, March 9, 1982, bids were received and opened for 61 (various size) wood utility poles. These poles will be used for the lighting system at Salas Park, the relocation of facilities for the traffic signal installation at Hutchins Street/Kettleman Lane intersection, the industrial development in the Turner Road/Cluff Avenue area and to replenish the department's stock of poles. A summary of the bids is shown on the attached recap sheet. Based on the bids .received and the department's preference for all Douglas Fir poles (resulting from experience), it is recommended that the bid be awarded to the low bidder providing all Douglas Fir poles, namely Koppers Company, Inc., West Sacramento, CA in the amount of $17,005.58. RESOLUTION NO. 82-27 AWARD - PURCHASE OF SIXTY-ONE (VARIOUS SIZE) WOOD UTILITY POLES WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of this City on March 9, 1982 at 11:0P a.m. for the contract for purchase of sixty-one (various size' wood utility poles as described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on February 17, 1982= and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and thereby made a part hereof. WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award be made to the low bidder, Koppers Company, Inc., NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for purchase of sixty-one (various size) wood utility poles be and the same is hereby made to Koppers Cootpany, Inc., the low bidder, in the amount of $17,005.58.
