At its meeting of February 22, 1983 the City Council of the City of Fremont adopted the Enclosed resolution and directed a copy of it be furnished to every city council in the state, together with our urging that YOU support SCA -2. League of California Cities attachment WSOLiiTION NO. 5624 )RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL or THE CITY l% OF TRZAONT SUPPORTING SCA -2 WKZ9Y S the voters of the State of California overwhelmingly defeated Proposition 15, an unnecessarily restrictive gun control measure, on last November's general election ballot; and WHEREAS, following this expression of the public will, Senate Constitutional Amendment SCA -2, a measure that will place current California law relative to firearm ownership sad possession into the State constitution, was recently introduced by Senator H.L. Richardson; and W =ZAS SCA -2 will prevent any further encroachsfent by any governmental entity on the basic Federal Constitutional right of firsarwa ownership and self protection, and maintain local control; and WHEREAS Constitutional Amendments to protect the Citizens' right to own and bear firearm* have already been approved in thirty-nine stater.; MOM THEREFORE BE IT .RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fremont wholeheartedly endorses SCA -2 6nd strongly urges the California State Legislature to pass SCA - 2 to place it on the 1994 Primary ballot for a vote by the people of the State of California.
