SUBJECT: SPECIFTCATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF WATTHOUR METERS (EUD-87-4)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Cjuncil approve the specifications for the
purchase of 672 watthour meters and authorize advertisement for bids thereon.
The bid opening date has been set for March 31, 1987.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The meters will be used to meter e,ectric energy
usage at the following developments:
Johnson Ranch Woodiake
Tandy Ranch Park West
Noma Ranch Sunwest
In addition, the meters will be required for other smaller developments through-
out the City and to maintain an inventory for other needs as they develop. The
estimated cost of this purchase is $22,000 with delivery expected in 8-10 weeks.
Funding is available in the EI.ectric Utility Department's operating fund.
