Application No. 60263, it has requested authoriza
tion under its Gas Adjustment Clause to revise
its gas service tariff effective April 1, 1981,
to reflect gas costs, to amortize the Gas Cost
Balance Account undercollection, and to modify
its Gas Adjustment Clause.

INTERESTED PARTIES
PACIFIC GAS AND ELZCTRIC COMPANY hereby gives
notice that in Application No. 60263 it has requested
authorization under its Gas Adjustment Clause (GAC) to
revise its gas service tariff effective April 1, 1981, to
reflect gas costs, to amortize the Gas Cost Balance Account
(GCBA) undercollection and to modify its Gas Adjustment
clause.
The proposed rates would increase PGandE's gas
revenues about 10.8 percent or $123.2 million for the four-
month period April 1, 1981 to July 31., 1981. The increase
will not raise PGandE's Gas Department rate of return above
the level. of 10.3 percent last found just and reasonable for
PGandE's Gas Department by the California Public Utilties
Commission.
The State, the counties, the municipal corporations,
and other parties interested in the above-mentioned filing
will be furnished a copy of Application No. 60263 with
related exhibits, upon written request made to PGandE, 77
Beale Street, P. 0. Box 7442, San Francisco, California
94106, Attention: Robert Ohlbach, Associate General Counsel.
This notice is given in accordance with Rule 24 of
the Revised Rules of Practice and Procedure of the California
Public Utilities Commission.
