HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - February 19, 1986 (53)COMPLAIRr REGARDING CITY WATER WELL INSTALLATION AT BLAKELY PARK City Clerk Reimche presented a letter which had been received from Luigi Boccia, 223 Mission Street, Lodi, opposing the installation of the water o,01 at Blakely Park suggesting that the well be removed, that the City install a submersible well, or reimburse him $25,000 for the depreciated value of his house. Mr. Boccia was in the audience and addressed the Council regarding the matter. Also addressing the Council on the matter was Ms. Delma Schmidt, 219 Mission Street, Lodi.. .,T113 February 9, Lodi City Council City Hall Call Box 3606 Lodi, CA 95241-1910 Gentlemen: In regards to the ',''ater 'Nell in Blakely "ark. I was never informed or asked my o.:inion about its c:nstraction, and I am very much opposed to it. It is very noisy and the view from the front of any house is very unattractive. It should have never been built on r•'iss=on Street, which is Zone 2, residential, and not commercial. The well should have been built in the middle of Blakely Park or on Stockton Street, where it wouldn't directly disturb anyone. I work hard everyday to improve my house and I feel my property value has depreciated because of this pump. No one is going to pay full value for a house that has a water pump for its view from its front window. Mr. Ronsko, Public ':Forks Director, said it's the City of Lodi's mistake and I feel it is a-:-Iistake the City should have to live with and pay for -- not me aria my family. I suggest you remove the well, install a submergable well, or pay me $25,000 for the depreciated value of my house and I will have to sell it for a cheaper price and move. Sincerely, Luigi Boccia 223 Missicn Street Lodi, CA 95240
