Chairman, Board of Supervisors
County of San Joaquin
County. Courthouse
222 East Weber Avenue, Room 703

Dear Chairman Wilhoit:
The Lodi City Council, at its reyslar meeting of Wednesday,
February 19, 1986, directed me to ccrmmnicate to the Board of
Supervisors its concern regarding the proposed increased refuse
charges to industrial firms located within the Lodi city limits.
The City Council strongly urges your Board to delay the
implementation of any refuse charge increases to Lodi's industrial
firms for a period of 60 days. The purpose of this request is to
provide the City of Lodi with time to conduct a thorough analysis.
of the entire refuse collection service in this city, encompassing
all; of the users residential, commercial and industrial. We do
not dispute the fact that increased fees to some degree may be
appropriate. However, we feel that any action regarding
adjustments to charges to any customers within the City of Lodi
should be made only after we have had the opportunity to
comprehensively review the impact to the total user picture.
We appreciate your favorable consideration of this request. The
City of Lodi will have a representative at the Board meeting of
February 25, 1986 at which time we understand this matter will be
discussed.
Sincer ,
Thomas A. Peterson.
