Budget: 1984 Fund: Community Development Block Grant Bid Opening Date: January 9, 1985 RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council award the contract for the above project to Zim Industries in the amount of $13,800. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project includes furnishing and installing a deep - well turbine pump and motor for Well 6, located in Blakely Park. The specifications allowed the City to analyze the bids for long-term cost (i.e., energy use). The analysis was done in various ways and in all cases Zim Industries/Ingersoll Rand had the least cost. We intend to share our analysis with the pump manufacturers and ask for their comments. It is our intent to use this type of analysis in future pump bids. The City has received the following nine bids for this project: Engineer's Estimate A tabulation of the analysis of the bids is attached. Jack L. RESOLUTION NO. 85-15 AWARD - CONTRACT FOR WELL 6 PUMP AND MOTOR WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of this City on January 9, 1985 at 11:00 a.m, for the contract for Well 6R Pump and Motor as described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council December 19, 1984; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: BIDDER AMOUNT Amerine Irr. J. $15,600.00 $15,724.00 $18,348.00 Western Well Drilling $15,436.00 Zim Irrigation $13,800.00 WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award be made to the low bidder, Zim Irrigation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for Well 6R, Pump and Motor, be and the same is hereby made to Zim Irrigation, the low bidder, in the amount of $13,800.00.
