and Cayelynn McDaniel, 2148 Debbie Lane, Lodi,
COMMITTEE
addressed the Council presenting a Resolution
of the Lodi High School. Student Assembly request-
ing a three-way stop at the intersection of
Pacific and Oak and that rumble strips be placed
before and after the stop signs. Council
discussion followed with questions being directed
to Staff and to Ms. Schleicher and Ms. McDaniel.

On motion of Councilman Pinkerton, Murphy second,
Council adopted Resolution No. 81-2 establishing
stop signs at both intersections of Pacific
Avenue onto Oak Street and at the intersection
of Oak Street onto Pacific Avenue. Council chose
not to take action on the request for rumble
strips.

A RE:OUT10 TO THE LORI qi.G4 :07COL STUDENT ASSEMBLY to recommend to
the Lodi City Council that t^e atfacned plan be adopted and acted
upon immediately.
1HEREAS: Lod; High SchoDl is wnrl*ln6 to control les own students in
the best interests of tke students and neighbors, and
WHEREAN Neighbors of L"di 06t have reported several comlaints resulting
from living by I _•di "lgt School, and
WHFREAS: The largest area of conce:•n is the 94cruising" and "hot -rodding"
on Pacific Ave. and ;va 1.nnt SL. and the driving, and
WHEREAS: Currently Pacific Ave. is not capable of handling the large
number of csrs *.wring ,peak hours of the day, and
WHEREAS: The Good Neighbor Committee consisting of students, Faculty,
Administrators, City Engineering Depy., City Police Dept.,
and nei6hbor3 of Lodi FQh School, is very much in favor of
adopting this plan immediately, and
WHEREAS: This plan would eliminate the "hot -rodding" because of the
three-way stop at the intersection of Pacific and Oak. Also
drivers coning in f r on Osk Sts will have an easier and safer
way to turn on Facif is Ave. because of the three-way stop, and
WHEREAS: The safety of pedestrians crossing Pacific Ave. will be
Increased treNendously by the stop signs, and
WHEREAS: Rumble strips placeO before and after the stop signs would slow
down traffic before the stop signs and through the intersection,+
WHEREASs There is an urgency in adopting and enacting a plan because
of the high level of danger to neighbors® students and drivers
because of Pacific Ave. not being able to handle the large
number of cars during peak hours of the day.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE LODI HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ASSEMBLY to
recommend to the Lcdi City Connell the* the attached plan be adopted
and noted upon imx-,ediately.

RESOLUTION NO. 81-2
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING STOP SIGHS IN THE
AREA OF LODI HIGH SCHOOL
WHEREAS, the Good Neighbor Committee consisting of studentse
faculty administrators, the City Engineering Department, the City
Police Department and neighbors of Lodi high School mutually
agree that in the interest of traffic safety that stop signs be
established at both intersections of Pacific Avenue onto Oak
Street and at the intersection of Oak Street onto Pacific Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Lodi does hereby establish atop signs at both inter-
sections of Pacific Avenue onto Oak Street, and at the intersection
of Oak Street onto Pacific Avenue# Lodi..

and adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in
a regular meeting held February 4, 1981 by the follow-
