HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - February 4, 1981 (58)REQUEST BY Carol Schleicher, 808 Maplewood Drive, -Lodi, "GOOD NEIGHBOR" and Cayelynn McDaniel, 2148 Debbie Lane, Lodi, COMMITTEE addressed the Council presenting a Resolution of the Lodi High School. Student Assembly request- ing a three-way stop at the intersection of Pacific and Oak and that rumble strips be placed before and after the stop signs. Council discussion followed with questions being directed to Staff and to Ms. Schleicher and Ms. McDaniel. ' On motion of Councilman Pinkerton, Murphy second, Council adopted Resolution No. 81-2 establishing stop signs at both intersections of Pacific Avenue onto Oak Street and at the intersection of Oak Street onto Pacific Avenue. Also drivers coning in f r on Osk Sts will have an easier and safer way to turn on Facif is Ave. because of the three-way stop, and WHEREAS: The safety of pedestrians crossing Pacific Ave. will be Increased treNendously by the stop signs, and WHEREAS: Rumble strips placeO before and after the stop signs would slow down traffic before the stop signs and through the intersection,+ WHEREASs There is an urgency in adopting and enacting a plan because of the high level of danger to neighbors® students and drivers because of Pacific Ave. not being able to handle the large number of cars during peak hours of the day.
