BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In November 1980, specifications for these four vehicles were mailed to 18 de aeric of used leased vehicles throughout the Lodi, Stockton and Sacramen areas; only one response for 2 of the 4 vehicles was received. The follow-up information received by staff from the bidden was as follows: I. Noneof the bidden had a one-holf ton pickup truck available in the lease fleet for sale. (Some bidders had used trade-in pickup Trucks with high mileage and no maintenance records). 2. The majority of bidders had not received their new replacement 1981 models from the factory, and in turn have only a limited amount of year old 1980 model cars and station wagons available for sale at this time, and 3. Vehicles that were available in the lease fleet were 2 year-old 1979 high mileage vehicles which did not meet our specifications; one bidder, Senator Ford of Sacramento, had one sub -compact car and mid-size station wagon which in turn was sold by the bid opening date. Information obtained this post week through the State Cooperative Purchasing Program will permit ordering and delivery of the four vehicles in approximately 10 weeks. The four vehicles may be purchased for a total of $25,500. There was $25,400 approved in the 1980-81 budget. The following is a summary of vehicles to be purchased by departments, including sales tax, and the 1-1/`2% State program handling fee: APPROVED: HENRY A. CLAVES, City Manager FILE NO. OF FOUR VEHICLES THROUGH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, STATE COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Ladi does hereby authorize the office of Procurement, Department o1 General Services of the State of California, to purchase four vehicles as approved in the 1980-81 City of Lodi Budget, pursuant to Section 14814, Government Code of the State of California, and that Fred C. Wilson, Finance Director, is hereby authorized and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other documents in connection therein for and on behalf of the City of Lodi., Dated: January 21, 1981 I hereby certify that Resolution No. 81-11 was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in regular meeting held January 21, 1981 by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen - McCarty, Murphy; Hughes, Pinkerton and Katnich Noes: Councilmen - None Absent: Councilmen - None A.AtE M.
