RDOC)WENDID ACTION: That the City Council of the City of Lodi adopt the
attached resolution calling for changes in the
benefit package for employees represented by the
United Firefighters of Lodi.
RACKGROLN"D INFOPMATION: In January 1986, representatives of the City of Lodi
a.nd the United Firefighters of Lodi entered into a
multi-yaar Memorandum of Understanding (MO(J) which
ends in October 1987. As a part of that NM, the City agreed to make changes
in certain benefits or. January 1, 1987, covering holiday leave, vacation leave,
education incentive and vision care.
The specifics of these changes r :e shown in the attached resolution.
The MOU calls for these benefits to be effective January 1, 1987; hover,
education incentive and vacation are earned on a per pay period basis. The pay
period nearest January 1, 1987 is December 29, 1986, which is the reason for
those benefits to begin that date.

RESOLUTION APPROVING BENEFIT CHANGES
FOR UNITED FIREFIGHTERS OF LODI
WrfflRE.AS, the City of Lodi and the United Firefighters of Lodi entered
into an agreement covering wages, hours and terms of employment covering *'-e
period through the pay period in which October 1, 1987 fa 11 s ; and

1. Effective January 1, 1987, employees on shift schedules shall
earn 132 hours of holiday leave per year. Erriployees on 40 -hour
schedules ,ill earn 9, hours.
2. Effective December 29, 1986, the following increments will be
added to the Education Incentive program.

No more than $125.00 per mnth w i 11 be paid to any one program
for the Education Incentive Program.
3. Effective December 29, 1966, employees caTpleting 25 years of
employment will earn vacation at the rate of 13.85 hours per
pay period.
4. Effective January 1, 1987, the employees in the Fire ►Jnit shall
be enrolled in the optical plan offered other City erployees.
