BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Diablo Control Company has been maintaining the nstrunw..ntation at the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility for the last four years. We recently received the attached quote from them for $12,000 for the 1983 calendar year. The work under this year's contract is the same as in the 1982 contract. In 1982, we went to formal bid and received a bid from Diablo Control Company of $9,600 and one from Brantley Instrument Company in the amount of $13,650. We have reviewed Diablo Control Company's bid of $12,000 and find it justified in light of increased level of service, response time to emergencies, and general labor and material increases. In addition, Honeywell Instrumentation Company, our original equipment supplier, is no longer making repair part components which will cause parts replacement to be more costly. There was $l,OOO budgeted for this item in the 1982-83 operating budget. JaXk L. Ronsko Putilic Works Director achment JLR:FEF:dmw APPROVED: HENRY A. GLP'.VES, City Manager r® FILE NO.
