SUBJECT: CONSIDER INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE INCREASING CFF -STREET PARKNG REQUIREMENTS
IN CERTAIN RESIDENTIALLY -ZONED AREAS, FROM ONE AND ONE-HALF TO TWO SPACES PER
UNIT, (LODI MUNICIPAL CODE § 17.60.100)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Council consideration of the attached draft ordinance
increasing off-street parking requirements in certain
residentially -zoned areas, from one and one-half
spaces per u n i t t o two spaces per unit.
BACKGROUND Il41RMATM- Based on the recommendation of the Planning
Commission and Council direction, attached for
consideration is a draft ordinance amending Lodi
Municipal Code § 17.60.100. This amendment increases from one and one-half
spaces per unit to two spaces per unit, the off-street parking requirements
for triplexes, fourplexes, and multiple -family units in areas zoned R -LD (Low-
density Multifamily Residential) , R -GA (Garden Apartment Residence), R -MD
(Medium -density Multifamily Residence) , and R -HD (High-density Multifamily
Residence). The ordinance, as amended, does not increase or in any way affect
the percentage of spaces mandated which are to be covered parking.

AN ORDINANCE OF TIIE LODI CITY COUNCIL
"MENDING LODI MUNICIPAL CODE § 17.60.100 - RELATING TO
OFF-STREET PARKING IN CERTAIN ZONES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LGDI CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Lodi Nunir_ipal Code § 17.60.100 - Off -Street Parking,
Spaces Required - Number, is hereby amended by modifying subparagraphs
2, 3 and 4 thereof, relating to the R -LD, R -GA, and R -MD and R -HD zones
off-street parking requirements, as follows:
17.63.100 Spaces requi rea --Number.
The number of off-street parking spaces required for each use i s
as follows:
A. Residential:
2. Three-family and four -family dwelling, R -LD zone, two
spaces per unit, two-thirds covered.
3. Multifamily, R -GA zone, two spaces per unit, two-thirds
covered.
4. Multifamily, R -MD and R -HD zones, two spaces per unit,
covered spaces not required.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lod
Nms Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and

published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect
thirty days from and after its passage and approval.
