Bennett, Chairman, Old Lodi Union High School Site Foundation PREPARED BY: Community Center Director RECOMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the L.U.H.S. Site Foundation's donation of :$50,000 which is to be app_ied against the construction Loan, of the Fine Arts Facility. BACKGROUND INFORI`MION: The City loaned the Foundation construction funds for the rebuilding of the Fine Arts Facility at Hutchins Street Square. The building is complete a„d being utilized as a home for the Art Center, the Arts Commission, and will begin programmning the Theatre through "Camp llutchins". The Foundation has a wealth of volunteers who have organized a community wide fundraising program soliciting donations from business and private individuals as well as creating unique events to provide the neeaed dollars for the loan repayment. The monies contributed tonight represent the effort of hundreds of Lodi people who donated their time and talent at the recent Field and Fair Day Celebration, September 5, 1988. The final cost of the building construction is $752.385. Tonight, the Foundation is contributing another $50,000 which brings our total donation to the City to $500,000.
