Fernandez for traffic engineering services, and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the city. 5;CKGROUr`rD INFORMATION: Mrs. Fernandez has worked for the City of Lodi as an Assistant Civil Engineer since July 1985. She has functioned in the role of Traffic Engineer. Her work has been excellent and the Public Works Department considers here a valued em,l0yee. Mrs. Fernandez i s busy raising a young fami ly which precludes her from working full time. She has requested that she be allowed to work on a half -tine basis. At some later date, she may be able to return to full time employment. In order to avoid misunderstandiggs as to her statVs and benefits at a later c}4tu;, we have prep recd the attacYhied personal services contract. FERNANDEZ AND CITY OF LODI C O N T R A C T This is to certify that I, Assistant Civil Engineer, Paula J. Fernandez, have accepted employment with the City of Lodi in the position of Assistant Civil Engineer at a present base salary of S3106.85 Per iiionth 180 hours per two week pay period) on a regular, full-time basis; and, wish to work half-time (job share). It, is understood that it is rry intention to work 40 hours each 80 hour pay period. It is further understood that i will retain all the rignts and privileges of a regular employee as covered by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOO) for the General Services Unit except as described below: I. Salary will be prorated to hours worked per pay period. 2. Administrative Leave will be 20 hour: per year. 3. Vacation Leave accrual will be 50% of that in the MOU. 4. Sick Leave accrual will be 50%of that in the MOO. 5. Holiday Ledve w i I I be 50% of that in the MOU. (16 hours to remain in 1989) 6. Medical and Dental insurance coverage will not be provided, however they nay be reinstated upon employee's contribution of 50% of the current premium and with evidence of insurability or upon return to full-time status. 7. Long Term Disability benefit to be 50:0 of that provided in the MOO. This agreement may be terminated under the fol iowing circumstances: 1. With 60 days written notice of the City's desire to fill the Assistint Civil Engineer position on a full-time basis provided the City has made a good faith effort to find another person to fill othr_r half of the job -share position. 2. With 30 days written notice of the employee's wish to return to full -time status, provided the other half-iime position is not filled. 3.
