RECO,€FENDED ACTION_ That the City Council accept the Old L.U.H.S. Site
Foundation's donation of $50,000 which is to be applied
against the construction loan of the Fine Arts Facility.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION. The City loaned the Foundation construction funds for
the rebuilding of the Fine Arts Facility at Hutchins
Street Square. The building is complete and being
utilized as a hom` for the Art Center, the Arts Commission
and will begin programming the Theatre through "Camp Hutchins". The Foundation has a
wealth of volunteers who have orgznized a community wide fundraising program soliciting
donations from business and private individuals as well as creating unique events to
provide the needed dollars for the loan repayment. The final cost of the building
construction is $752,385. Tonight, the Foundation is contributing another $50,000
which brings our total donation to the City to $450,000.00.
