HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - August 15, 2012 I-01 PHAGENDA ITEM 7:00 CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Approve Downtown Lodi Business Partnership 2012 Annual Report, Adopt Resolution of Intention to Levy Annual Assessment, and Set a Public Hearing for September 19,2012 to Considerthe Proposed Assessment MEETING DATE: PREPARED BY: August 15,2012 Deputy City Manager RECOMMENDEDACTION: Approve the Downtown Lodi Business Partnership (DLBP) 2012 Annual Report, adopt a Resolution of Intentionto levy the annual assessment, and set a public hearing for September 19, 2012 to consider the proposed assessment. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Pursuant to Lodi Municipal Code Chapter 12.06 and Streets and Highways Code Section 36500 et seq., the DLBP membership board is required to present an annual report for City Council review and approval prior to September 1. This must be done prior to the public hearing and adoption of a resolution confirming the 2012 Annual Report and 2013 levy of assessment. Streets and Highways Code Section 36533 provides that a Business Improvement District (BID) must file an annual report which shall include proposed assessments, budget, general descriptions of the proposed improvements and activities, description of the area served, and any declaration of intentto change boundaries of the parking and business improvement area or in any benefitzone within the area if changes are being proposed. FISCAL IMPACT: The City does not charge the DLBP a fee to collect and distributethe assessment. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby resolve, determine, and finds as follows: 1.
