THE CITY MANAGERS OFFICE SUBJECT: CRIME PREVENTION FAIR AWAFUS DATE I � May 17, 1989 This year the Lodi Grape and Wine Festival presented the Crime Prevention Fair with five (5) $50.00 cash awards to be presented to booths in various categories. Of the five awards, three were won by City employees of the Fire, Parks, and Police Departments. Since the employees were being compensated for their time by the City, the Resolution prepared by the City Attorney is necessary if they are to keep the funds. The individual amounts vary from 86.00 to $25.00 per oerson. Respectfully submitted, 16a F I ovd A. Williams Chief of Police RFSOLLTHON NO. 89-53 A RESOLUTION OF THE L.ODI CITY COUNCIL. 0a MENS THE L.ODI POLICE DEPARTMENT PERSOIIIFT, , FIRE DEPARTMENT FH60�n , AND PARKS DEPARTMENT PERSOIIIFT, AND AUTHORIZING REIFIVHON OF AWAU VdiREA cn April 30, 1989, the Lodi Police Department sponsored a Crime Prevention Fair for the purpose of making the City a better and safer place to live; and VVHEF ASs personnel from the Lodi Police and Fire Departments devoted their talents and both on -duty and off-duty time to the Fair, which was attended by more than 6000 people; and Vd REAS, a total of $250.62 was donated by the Lodi Grape Festival and National Wine Show to fund small prizes or honoraria for those participants whose displays were judged to be of special merit; NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED the City Council hereby commends those City of Lodi employees of the Fire Department, Police Department, and Parks Department who devoted their time and efforts to putting on the Crime Prevention Fair, thereby making Lodi a better place in which to live; FURTHER RESOLVED, the Council hereby authorizes , pursuant to Penal Code §70, the retention of those honoraria or awards received by Fire Department, Pol ice Department, and Parks Department personnel.
