The Board of Trustees of t he San Joaquin Local. Health I1 District desires to dissolve the District - 12 2. Thee Board of, Supervisors recognizes its responsibility.. to 13 provide public health services on dissolution of the District. 14 3. EMPLOYEES OF SUPERSEDED ORGANIZATIONS, Whenever the County assumes an activity previously performed 3 by another governmental entity or by private enterprise, an employee of the superseded organization shall be assigned to 4 a position in County service similar in duties and compen- sation to the position that he held in the superseded organi- 5 zation, The Personnel Director shall determine what constitutes similar duties and compensation in County ser- 6 vice." 7 "SECTION 2-5007. EMPLOYEES OF SUPERSEDED ORGANIZATION: PLACEMENT RULES. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section a 2-5006, the following conditions shall be applicable to all 9 such employees: "(a) A, employee of a superseded organization must meet 10 the minimum education, experience, and special requirements of the class established by the Civil 11 Service Commission for the class of position in which he acquires status, 12 "(b) The employee shall not be required to take an exa l3 urination to retain his position, but s a I I not be promoted to any other classified position in the 14 Merit System unless he meets the same requirements`` required of other employees for promotion. 15 "(c) The employee may be inducted into the Merit System 1-6 at the step of the salary range nearest to the salary he was receiving as an employee of the l7 superseded organization provided that such salary is not higher than the maximum salary assigned to 18 the class of position in which he is hired, 29 "(d)'-For purposes of step increments, retirements ^sick lcavc, vacation benefits, or any, 20 other compensation, the employee shall be treated in the 'same manner.:as a new.County employee unless 2l otherwise specified by the :Board of,:Supervisors 22 "te) In the-event that an employee of:a superseded orga- nization does not meet the requirements for County 23 employment as provided in paragraph (a) of this sec- tion, the employe` may be hired in the nett lower 24 - ... .. class for which.he:meets the requirements`in.accor dance with the provisions of: the, salary ordinance 25 or he .may, be hired as`a temporary'employeesubject: to the: provisions of temporary employment in.such 26 .., clas"s and: at succi salary as:'approved by,.the Board 2 upon the recommendation of. the County 7:Adminis trator: _ 3 _ AM - 1 "(t) An employee with less than one year of service shall be given probationary status and shall be 2 required to Serve a probationary period of one year unless otherwise specified by the Board of Super - 3 visors. 4 '(9) An employee with one year of continuous service in the superseded Organization in a position similar 5 in duties and compensation to that class in which he is placed in the Merit System may be given per - 6 manent Merit System status, or may be required to 7 serve a probationary period of one year. 8 8 9 10 Il 12 '(h) An employee with one year of continuous service in the superseded organization but not in a position similar in duties and compensatioh..:to that class in which he is placed in the Merit System shall be given probationary status and shall be required to serve a probationary period of one,year-of, con- tinuous service, unless otherwise specified by the Board of Supervisors. An employee of a superseded organization shall be required to meet the same physical standards required of other applicants for Countyemployment, except that such employee with remedial physical, impairments may be hired upon approval.of.;,the Senior Medical Examiner.
