RECOt'MENDED ACTIQ : That: the City Council approve the 50% ma xi.,_um
subsidy of Adult Sports League Programs and
authorize the Parks and Recreation Commission
to adjust Sports I.,eague Programs fees when the percentage goes over the
50; limit without resubmitting a request for fee adjustments.
DACKCROUND INFORMATICN: As reviewed and recommended by the Farks and
Recreatior. Cornmission and reviewed at a
shirt -sleeve session in February, the Staff
prepared a breakdown of costs and revenue for each adult sports league
activity and indicated that a 50n subsidy was fair and reasonable and
that any percentage over this could be considered excessive support of
the adult program. Staff has shown the areas of expens- in operating
a..program, i.e. equipment, tees, personnel, utilities and related
nteoance, and would like to retrAn these operational ccsts to
determine annually s:,id percentage of cost in operation. revenue was
...also staeeu for these activities as registration fees and concession
income where applicable.
the feeling of the Staff and Commission that we would enjoy tate
3 iltude to review fees, using the above cost/revenue figures, on an
``annual basis, adjusting fees if over the agrees', percentage, and
:::present the proposal to the Parks and Recreation Commission with
.detailed operation figures, at which time they would initiate
appropriate action.
The Council reviewed this concept earlier in the year at a
session, and seemed to be in favor of it
