Wood Company in the amount of $111,478.50 and appropriate an additional $75,000 from the Gas Tax (32.0) Fund to complete the project. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will be done in conjunction with the development of Gri in Industrial Park. The City is responsible for the street improvements on the south half of Lodi Avenue and the east half of Guild Avenue. The Griffin Industrial Park developers ara studying their financing to determine whether or not they will go ahead with their project. If they.decide to proceed with the project, the City Manager will award this street nnprovement contract. Claude C. Vib©d Company has indicated they will hold their price at least for another month. VAm this City project was budgeted, it was anticipated that Griffin Industrial' Park would be constructed in two phases. Additional funds were to be budgeted when the second phase was developed. Because the Griffin Industrial Park developers are considering the construction of the entire subdivision at this time, additional funds are needed now. It is recommended that an additional $75,000 be appropriated `fromthe 32.0 Fund if the contract i s awarded. Plans and specifications for this project were approved on March 1, 1989. CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS, GUILD AVENUE (LODI AVENUE TO PINE STREET) AND LODI AVENUE (680 FEET EAST OF CLUFF AVENUE TO GUILD AVENUE) WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published i n accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received ar.d publicly opened on March 22, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. for the contract for Street Improvements, Guild Avenue (Lodi Avenue to Pine Street) and todi Avenue (680 Feet East of Cluff Avenue to Guild Avenue), described i n the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on March 1, 1989; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Biddex Location .B -.d Claude C. Wood Company Lod i $111,478.50 Granite Construction Stockton $116,984.00 Teichert Construction Stockton $128,576 .00 WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award of the contract for Street Improvements, Guild Avenue and Lodi Avenue, be made to the low bidder, Claude C. Wood Company; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for Street Improvements, Guild Avenue and todi Avenue, be and the same is hereby awarded to Claude C. Wood Company, the low bidder, in the amount of $111,478.50; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby Bppropriates an additional $75,000 for street improvements on this City project from the Gas Tax (32.0) Fund, to complete the project in its entirety, rather than i n two phases as originally anticipated when this City project was budgeted for.
