SUBJECT: ADC PXN OF URGENCY ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RATE SCHEDULE FOR
INFECTIOUS WASTE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL
PREPARED BY:
Assistant City Nlanager
RECOWIENDED ACTION: Council adopt by
urgency
ordinance
the attached
schedule of fees
for the
pickup and
disposal of
infect i ous waste.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The franchise agreement with
Sanitary
City Disposal
Company gives them
the exclusive
right
to pickup a l l
solid waste within
the City
and assigns the task of
billing to the City
of Lodi.
Our present fee schedule does not provide for this specialized billing;
therefore, the City cannot collect for this service. Sanitary City stopped
billing for the service effective January 1, 1989.
In order to collect the fees due, ve are proposing this schedule of rates be
effective January 1, 1989 and the Council direct the Finance Director to issue
separate bills for the months of January, February and Nlarch.
Respectfully submitted,

MEMORANDUM
T0: The Honorable Mayor and
Members of the City Council
FROM: Assistant City Manager
DATE : April 4, 1989
SUBJ: Infectious Waste Rates
Today Mr. Vaccarezza of Sanitary City Disposal Company inform::d rre that he had
changed vendors for the containers used to handle infectious waste. The sizes
are slightly different and additional sizes have been added.
I n addition, the four -cubic yard container service is no longer being provided.
The billing for this service for January, February and March has been handled
on a special billing basis. Therefore, the effective date of the ordinance can
be April 1, 1989 rather than January 1989.
A revised ordinance is included which reflects the proper nomenclature for the
containers and the effective date of the new billing.
