BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Several terms on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission are due to expire shortly. Further, two members will be graduating this May resulting in additional vacancies. Therefore, it is recommended that Council direct the City Clerk to post for these expiring terms and vacancies. Government Code Section 54970 et sea. requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application. The Youth Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Cottage Room at Hutchins Street Square and consists of 1 City Council representative and 6 adult advisors serving 3 -year terms and 9 student members serving 2 -year terms. Applications are now being accepted to fill three (3) adult advisor vacancies, which are due to expire May 31, 2015, five (5) student vacancies, which are due to expire May 31, 2014, and two (2) student vacancies, which are due to expire May 31, 2013.
