REVOKE VEHICLE FOR HIRE OPERATOR'S PER.M1IT - AMERICAN CLASSIC LIMOUSINE SERVICE

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council revoke the Operator's Permit of
American Classic Limousine Service.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Or, or about February 8, 1988, the City of Lodi was
forwarded a notice of cancellation of liability
insurance effective March 7, 1388 for the above -
captioned f i rm . On February 9, 1988, i wrote to the firm advising that under
the terms and conditions of their permi t/ agreement, they must maintain the
prescribed insurance requiremen,�s to continue with their vehicle for hire
operation, and that if the firm did no" supply the required insurance, that
their permit would be revoked.
Having received no
response from
the
firm, ny office called Larry Gigletto
of that firm on February 16, 1388,
and Mr. Gigletto indicated that their
firm was going out
of the vehicle
for
hire business, and that was the reason
they had cancelled
their liability
insurance, and that they no longer wished
to continue on with
their vehicle
for
hire permit/agreement with the City of
Lodi.

At the City Council meeting of March 2, 1988, the City Attorney
informed the Council that "on or about February 8, 1988, the City of
Lodi was forwarded a notice of cancellation of 1 iabil ity insurance
effective March 7, 1988 for American Classic Limousine Service. On
February 9, 1988, I wrote to the firm advising that under the terms and
conditions of their permit/agreement, they must maintain the prescribed
insurance requirements to continue with their vehicle for hire
operation, and that if the firm did not supply the required insurance,
that their permit would be revoked.
Having received no response from the firm, ny office called Larry

In view of this information, the Lodi City Council, by motion action,
revoked the Operator's Permit of American Classic Limousine Service.

Gentlemen
This will refer to the above -referenced permit and contract covering
your operation of a limousine service within the City of Lodi. In
this regard, this office has been advised that you have requested
cancellation of your liability insurance policy covering the
iimousine service, effective March 7, 1988.
I wish to remind
you that under
the terms and conditions
of your
permit/agreement
with the City
of todi and pursuant
to Lodi
Municipal Code
§5.24.250 and
Resolution No. 8511 or other
resolutions as to
requirements as
set from time to time by
the City
Council, you must
maintain the
prescribed limits of
liability
insurance coverage to continue your
operation.
Please contact this office immediately at (209) 333-5701. The City
will have no alternative other than to revoke your permit to operate
the limousine service, if your insurance is cancelled.
