HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - January 20, 1988 (48)C0Ui.,IL COMMUNICATION
TO: THE CITY COUNCIL COUNCIL NEEENG DTE NO.
FROM: THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE January 20, 1988
SUBJECT: TO OBTAIN CITIZENS COMMENTS ON TRANSIT NEEDS WITHIN THE CITY OF LODI
PREPARED BY: Assistant City Manager
RECOMMENDED ACTION: None
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Public law requires each public agency receiving
local transportation funds to hold an annual public
hearing to receive public input on unmet transit
needs.
Transportation needs can best be described as those
trips required to provide the essentials necessary to maintain a minimum
standard of living. This includes trips necessary for medical and dental
services, shopping, employment, personal business, education, social services,
and recreation.
After needs are determined, then a decision must be
made whether they can reasonably be met. COG has defined this "reasonable to
be met" standard in economic terms.
In 1987 COG found there were no unmet transit needs
in the City of Lodi .
Attached is a usage schedule which provides
performance indicators for Dial -A -Ride during the past twelve months.
Council is not required to make any findings or take
any action at this meeting. COG is responsible for defining the unmet needs
and whether these needs can reasonably be met.
Respectfully submitted,
clerry L. Glenn
Assistant City Manager
