AGENDA TITLE: Appointments/Reappointments to Various City of Lodi Boards and Commis s ions MEETING DATE: December 16, 1992 PREPARED BY: City Clerk RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council, by motion action, concur with the Mayor's following appointments/reappointments to various City of Lodi Boards and Commissions and set for the Council meeting of January 6, 1993 the consideration of expanding the Parks and Recreation Commission to seven members- APPOINTM.rsNTS Lodi Senior Citizens Commission Joan Rostomily four-year term expiring December 31, 19961 Michael Nilssen four-year term expiring December 31, 19961 REAPPOINT3�S Pers el Board of Review Peter Hetzner four-year term expiring January 17, 1997 Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee Donald Kurdert four-year term expiring January 1. 1997 Recreation .Commi.saion Set for the Council meeting of January 6, 1993, the consideration of expanding the Parks and Recreation Commission to seven members. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At the November 18, 1992 City Council meeting, the City Clerk was directed to post for these expiring terms. The activities of the Recreation Commission are getting larger because of the size and depth of the territory we serve. The responsibilities of the Parks ari Recreation Commission are more diverse today than they were years ago. � AP€>ROVED THOMAS A. This indicates a lot of interest from the citizens in the Lodi area. Everyone of the applicants interviewed could serve on this commission and vould do a good job. The activities of this commission are getting too big Cor a five mem3er comanission. Because of this interest, I would like Council concurrence to put oR the January 6, 1993 agenda. the possibility of expanding the Parks and Recreation Commission to seven members. Since that tore 15 individuals have put in applications €orappointrnent. During this past week I have met with each individual to discuss the board and commission they applied for. The meeting toke about 102 hour each and centered around the goals and objectives of the cam --,. c , and their vision for the future of that particuliar commission or board.
