Both the Hape's`Ranch`site on Highray,132. ten sites west of Modesto. and the Don Pedro site, 30 miles east.of Modesto; remain under consideration as possible locations for the propoted tenth UC 'WVW. He feel that strong regional support will enhance our chances of obtaining this campus. A sample resolution is enclosed. If you need someone to maKe a presentation, please I e t me know. ME.I - the University of California system is contemplating the construction of their tenth campus, and NHEREAS. the University of California system presently has no carouses in clot* proximity to ,and iNlEREAS, .a.Wversity of California `'campus `would add to the cultural opportunities of the area. and W EREAS, the University of California would have a favorable economic impact on the area, and NH EREAS, a University of California campus would improve the quality of life for the area citizens. iNEREAS. a University of California campus would provide access to a university education for I area residents, and WHEREAS, students from Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Merced, Mariposa and Tuolumne counties are under -represented on University of California �aml,,uses. The City Council of the City of Lodi wholeheartedly supports the University of California Expansion Committee i n their community effort to locate such a campus i n Modesto. Certainly, the construction of this facility in our area would add to the cultural opportunities and have a favorable economic impact in the central valley.
