Thank you for your October 18, 1990 letter advising of your efforts to
attract a University of California campus to the greater Modesto area.
The City Council of the City of Lodi wholeheartedly supports the
University of California Expansion Committee i n their community effort
to locate such a campus i n Modesto.
Certainly, the construction of this facility in our area would add to
the cultural opportunities and have a favorable economic impact in the
central valley. Such a campus would provide access to a university
education for students iorn Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Merced, Mariposa,
and Tuolumne counties, which students are presently under -represented
on University of California campuses.
