HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - September 5, 1990 (61)COUNCIL TO: THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE C0MMUNICAli0N COUNCIL MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 5, 1''J0 SUBJECT: AGREEMENT FOR OVERHEAD ELECTRIC LINE CROSSINGS OF RAILROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the agreements (2) for overhead electric line crossings of railroad rights-of-way and authorize the Mayor to execute same on behalf of the City. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The new Industrial Substation will be interconnected to the City's existing system via new 60-kv and 12-kv lines. The routing for some of these lines cross over existing Southern Pacific Transportation Co. and Central California Traction Co. railroad rights -of -ways. Each such crossing requires an agreement between the City and the respective railroad company. Consideration in the form of a one time fee per crossing (ranging from :;330 to $460) as well as a yearly lease per crossing in the amount of $85.00, in the case of Southern Pacific Transportation Co., is also included in the agreements.
