CITY OF LO®I 10
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Public Hearing for East Side Street Lighting Program
MEETING DATE: September 2, 1992
PREPARED BY: Community Development Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council hold over for two weeks (September
16, 1992) a public hearing which will allow the residents
of the areas to be lighted the opportunity to speak and
also to hear recommendation from staff.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will install street lights at four public
sites in the east side. City staff has determined that
in order to sufficiently illuminate the streets and
intersections surrounding the sites, not only should new
lights be added, but some of the old standards should be replaced. Additional data
must be gathered to analyze the expanded scope of the project, hence, the request
for continuation of the hearing. Also, since a greater number of lights will be
installed, there may only be enough money to address two or three of the originally
planned sites. The remaining site(s) could be addressed in subsequent project years.
