AGENDA TITLE: Postfor Vacancies on the Lodi Arts Commission and the Lodi Budget/Finance
Committee

RECOMMENDEDACTION: Direct the City Clerk to post for the vacancies on the Lodi Arts
Commission and the Lodi Budget/Finance Committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On August 4,2010, the City Council voted to reduce the
membership of the Lodi Arts Commission from 11 members to 9
and the Lodi Budget/Finance Committee from 7 members to 5.
Following this restructuring, there remains one vacancy on the Arts Commission that has previously been
posted but remains unfilled and two members of the Lodi Budget/Finance Committee have since
resigned. Government Code Section 54970 et seq., requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to
allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application; therefore, it is recommended that the City
Council direct the City Clerk to post for the vacancies shown below.

Kelly Brown Term to expire June 30,2012
Steven Reeves Term to expire June 30,2013

Purpose: To inspire, encourage, and promote the arts in the community.
Meetings: Meets 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m.
Thomas Theatre Gallery, Hutchins Street Square
Membership: Nine members
Lodi Budget/Finance Committee
One vacancy —term to expire June 30,2012 (2 -year term)
One vacancy —term to expire June 30, 2013 (3 -year term)
Purpose: To advise the City Manager and the City Council on financial related
matters.
Meetinas: Meets 2nd Mondayof each month at 6:00 p.m.
Carnegie Forum
Membership: Five members
Note: Appointments will be made by the Mayorwith Council approval. Applicants
must be registered to vote in San Joaquin County at the time of application. If
appointed, you may be required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest.
These are volunteer, unpaid positions.
