RECOMMENDED ACTION: Directthe City Clerk to postfor one vacancy on the Lodi Animal
Advisory Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received a letter of resignation (filed)from
Lodi Animal Advisory Commissioner Dan Phillips. Government
Code Section 54970 et seq., requires that the City Clerk post for
vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application; therefore, it is recommended
that the City Council direct the City Clerk to postfor the vacancy shown below.

dedicated service as a member of the Lodi Animal Advisory Commission.
As you reflect on your participation, I hope you will feel gratified in knowing you have been a
part of many fine events and accomplishments and that effort will continue to be made toward
enriching and improving our community. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us.
In ending your service, it will be necessary for you to complete a Form 700 — Conflict of
Interest Leaving Office Statement no laterthan 30 days from the date of this letter of notice
(due Tuesday, September 7, 2070, by5:00 p.m.) The original statement will be retained in
the City Clerk's Office. Forms have been enclosed for your convenience.

Two (2) Vacancies
on Lodi Animal Advisory Commission
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
the Lodi Animal Advisory Commission, charged
with acting in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all
matters pertaining to animals; exploring short- and long-
term needs of the Lodi Animal Shelter; making periodic
inventories of animal services that exist and/or may be
needed; and aiding in coordinating and promoting pet
population control measures and exploring funding
opportunities for such programs.
The Lodi Animal Advisory Commission meets at
6:00 p.m. on the 2"d Monday of each month in the
Community Room at the Lodi Police Department and
consists of 7 members, each serving 3 -year terms.
Applications are now being accepted to fill 2 vacancies
for 1 term, which is due to expire on December 31, 2012;
and 1 term, which is due to expire on December 31,2013.
Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's
office at 221 W. Pine St., 2nd floor. For more
information call 333-6702, or access the City's Web
site at www.lodi.gov.
Appointments to the commission will be made by the
Mayor with Council approval.
Note: You must be registered to vote in San Joaquin
County at the time of application. If appointed, you will be
required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest.
This is a volunteer, unpaid position.
Filing Deadline: Tuesday, September7, 2010, at5:00 p.m.
