AGENDA TITLE: Presentation of the United States Conference of Mayors City LivabilityAward

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation of the United States Conference of Mayors City
Livability Award.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: For the past 32 years, the City LivabilityAwards Program has
been one of the most competitive programs sponsored by the U.S.
Conference of Mayors. Mayor Johnson is being recognized with the Honorable Mention Citation. Out of
the hundreds of applications received, Mayor Johnson and the Project Lodi Art were among the 15
finalists for cities under 100,000 residents. Awards included are: one first place winner, 6 Outstanding
Achievement Awards and 4 Honorable Mention Citations.
A community's livability is measured by its people and the things we do to make life more pleasurable.
Project Lodi Art was created for just this reason. City Council empowered community volunteers to
enhance the livability and cultural understanding through permanent public art.
