Dear Alice,
I am writing this letter on behalf of Wine and Roses Country Inn.
reguarding the Community Development Department updated (Apr.11 1990)
diesel truck and trailer street parking policy.
I have been Informed by City of Lodi Traffic Division that the,:e large
trucks are allowed to park adjacent to our Bed and Breakfast Inn cND
Woodhaven Road.
As you know we are just completing a 10 ft high block, watt to
create a sound barrier to deal with the nolse that Woodhaven Road traffic
creates. Although the wall has helped the general noise problems we were
faced with, the diesel trucks present a new problem. The loud
refrigerator units on the trialers run continiously all night long. The
truckers leave very early In the morning, between 4.00 and 7:00 AM and it
Is necessary for thier trucks to warm up for at least a half hour, therefore
creating early morning noise to our sleeping guest.
Although I do not understand why truckers do not have to provi(le
their own off-site parking as do all other bulsnesses, I do know your
policy Is to allow parking adjaicent tY-ommercial property and not
residential.
I think it 16 fair to say that our Bed and Breakfast has a different
kind of Commercial use. I am asking the city to review this particular
situation and only allow truck parking on Woodhaven Road far enough away
so that the noise does not Injure our buisness I feel that ►f parking were
only allowed ad jacient to Cary Dev. Woodlake Plaza on both sides (east and
west) of Woodhaven Road.(see attached Map) It would be far enough away
from the Inn to not create the noise problems we are now faced with
