BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Lodi Public Library received a grant from the General Mills Foundation to purchase materials and to support the Homework Help Program. This program provides volunteer tutoring for students after school three days a week. Library collections provide a rich resource to assist with the help given to the participants. The funding will be used to enhance the library's collections that support the needs of area students. FISCAL IMPACT: The funding to be received is $8,000 FUNDING AVAILABLE: Not applicable. The funds were designated for resources to supportthe Homework Help Program and should be appropriated to Books and Periodicals- 210801.7308. f I has authorized th rol dji c )11 the following: Ae at 3 Date: LIR'No: Attach co�olution to this form. )epartment Head Signature: DeputyCity Manager/Internal Services Manager Date Submit completedforrntothe Budget Divisionwith any required documentation Final approval will be provided in electronicoopy format RESOLUTION NO. 2011-107 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING GRANT FROM THE GENERAL MILLS FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF THE LODI PUBLIC LIBRARY'S HOMEWORK HELP PROGRAM, AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING THE GRANT FUNDS TO THE LIBRARY FUND WHEREAS, the library has been awarded a grant by the General Mills Foundation in the amount of $8,000; and WHEREAS, the intention of the grant is to support the library's afterschool Homework Help Program; and WHEREAS, the library will utilize the grant funds to purchase materials in support of the Library Homework Help Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby accept the grant of $8,000 from the General Mills Foundation for the Homework Help Program; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the grant funds be appropriated to the Library Fund for support of the Homework Help Program.
