RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolu-
tion authorizing the purchase of federal surplus
property from the California State Department of
General Services, Agency for Surplus Property.
BACKGROUND P4UM AIM A part of the ongoing effort to reduce the cost
of City government, it is recommended that the
City Council authorize the purchase of surplus
federal equipment such as office desks, files,
tables and chairs from the California State Agency for Surplus Property
whenever possible and as needed to meet departments' requirements,
thereby realizing substantial savings compared to purchase of rev
equipment.
It is further recomnended that the City Council designate the Building
and Equipment Maintenance Superintendent, the Purchasing Officer, and the
Buyer for the City of Lodi as representatives authorized to acquire
federal surplus property from the California State Agency for Surplus
Property in accordance with the needs of the City and with the Terms and
Conditions set forth by the Agency.
