AGENDA TITLE: Presentation by Soroptimist International of Lodi to the
City of Lodi and the Sister City Committee of Japanese
Cultural Volumes

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Diamond, Inc. of Tokyo, Japan recently presented
to Soraptimist Clubs throughout the North
American continent the complete works consisting
of 12 volumes entitled, "The Traditional Crafts
of Japan". Diamond, Inc. has asked that
Soroptimist Clubs donate these volumes to
designated libraries in their communities.
Soraptimist International of Lodi is indeed pleased to donate on behalf of
Diamond, Inc. of Tokyo, Japan this outstanding works to the City of Lodi
and its Sister City Committee. We know that it will provide the citizens
of this community a real insight into Japanese arts, cultures, and crafts.
FUNDING: None required.

On behalf of Soroptimist International of Lodi, the Lodi City Council
and the City of Lodi Sister City Committee, may I express sincere
appreciation to you for the most beautiful gift of the 12 -volume works
entitled, "The Traditional Crafts of Japan". These are magnificent
volumes and will certainly add to our understanding of Japanese arts
and cultures.
At the City Council meeting of June 17, 1992, it was my pleasure as
President of Soroptimist International of Lodi to present these volumes
to the City of Lodi and the Sister City Committee for their library.
Once again thank you for this outstanding gift and for allowing
Soraptimist International clubs throughout the North American continent
to be the conduit for such a magnanimous gesture.

association for qreat social contribution activity.
As you may have Neared from Mr.osamu Kaneko,Diamond Inc,
has recently published "The Traditional Crafts of Japan",
which introduces Japan's all. traditional crafts with pictures,
videos and good explanations.
We would like to be of a help for your good understanding of
of Japanese arts and cultures by donating the complete works
of "The Traditional Crafts of Japan" to many libraries in
the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico in cooperation with Japanese
corporations:
In donating the works to the libraries, we ask your associ-
ation for cooperation and highly appreciate it in advance.
The works will be delivered to your association in March -April.,
1992 via a leading trnsportation company and we want to ask
a great favour of you to donate them to the designated libraries
within one month from the date of receipt.

the confirmation of receipt) for the Japanese corporation,
the donor of the works from the libraries,the donee for
confirmation of the receipt.
And upon receipt of the confiramtion, please send it to Diamond
Inc. This will be an evidence of receipt the works.
We,as the original publishers of the works, wish strongly that
"The Tranditional Crafts of Japan" will be accessed by many people
in the North American continent and be well understood of beauty
of Japanese arts and craftmanship of the craftmen.
